Jenna Norwood
Jenna Norwood has served on Healthy
Start’s Executive Board since 2004; as Secretary, Vice Chair
and Chair. She also served as Chair of the Health Education
& Promotion Committee and has been instrumental in the roles
of governance, fundraising, public relations and lobbying to
maintain state funding for the organization.
Jenna is
in demand as a speaker on the subjects of health and
well-being and the impact of our food choices on our
environment. Her award-winning independent film,
“Supercharge Me! 30 Days Raw” has received wide acclaim and
has been viewed worldwide.
While Jenna’s mother is a
native of Sarasota, Jenna is a native of Washington, D.C.
Sarasota was her second home until she relocated in 1998.
She holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of
Maryland. |

Shara Abrams
Shara
Abrams joined the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota Board
in 2007. She is the Vice President
of Field Operations for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, Inc.
Shara has worked with Jackson Hewitt since 1995 in various
positions including sales, operations and senior management,
all of which help her as a versatile member on the board.
Shara and her husband George Alberici have a daughter,
Marina, and they have lived in the
Sarasota
area
since 2004. |

Cameron Icard
Cameron Icard joined the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota
Board in 2007. Originally from
Charlotte,
North Carolina,
Cameron moved to Sarasota
in 1994
and began practicing Real Estate in 2002.
She has volunteered her time and talents in many
organizations in a variety of service areas, such as
Hospice, Habitat for Humanity, and The Nature Conservancy.
Cameron is a wife and mother of two college students.

Shelby Hill
Shelby is a native Floridian and is involved with her
community through after- school clubs and organizations, and
also through volunteering at various facilities.
Shelby is a STAR Student with
Sarasota’s
Community Youth Development Program. She has a new baby
sister, Mirabella, who will turn three in November and is the reason for
her interest in Healthy Start. She also enjoys hobbies such
as knitting, going for bike rides, relaxing at the beach,
and reading Science Fiction. She will be attending USF Tampa
in the fall, and plans to become a doula. |

Mike McIntosh
Mike McIntosh is Vice
President of Change Leadership for Catholic Health
Initiatives (CHI). Mike has over twenty years of experience
assisting organizations to improve their strategic,
operational, and financial performance. He has an MBA from
the University of Chicago, a BHS in Health Services Administration from
the University
of Kentucky,
and is trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Carol Selvey
Carol Selvey is Associate Vice President of Business
Development with Iatric Systems, Inc., an innovative
healthcare software and integration services company. Carol
has over twenty-five years of experience in leadership and
operational management, for both consulting and information
system vendors in the health information technology (HIT)
and systems industry. Carol has a BA degree in French from
Vassar College and a Masters in Health Services
Administration from the University of Kansas. She is a
member of the national Board of Directors of the Health
Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), is a
HIMSS Fellow (FHIMSS), and a Certified Professional in
Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS). |

Kelly Kirschner
Kelly Kirschner, Sarasota City Mayor, is
a life-long Sarasotan. He has served the
Sarasota
community
as President of the Alta Vista Neighborhood Association as
well as having been an active member of the Coalition of
City Neighborhood Associations. Believing
strongly in public service, Kelly has worked for the White
House Office of Public Liaison; served as a Peace Corps
Volunteer; and led a USAID community conservation project in
rural
Guatemala.
Locally, he has worked as Product Manager for Bio-Pro
Research and is currently the Senior Vice President of The
Media Maquiladora.
Kelly lives with his wife and
son in District 3.

Kitty Cranor
Kitty Cranor has been a resident of
Sarasota
for the
past five years. She moved here from Louisville,
KY,
where she served on several non-profit boards including The
Louisville Zoological Garden, The Kentucky Art and Craft
Foundation, Actor’s Theatre, and The Kilgore Samaritan
Counseling Center. She graduated from
Salem
College
in 1975
with a B.A. and The Darden School at
University
of
Virginia
with an
M.B.A. in 1980. She and her husband
John have two sons, Jake and Luke. |

Monica Becket
Monica, a member of the North Port CHAT, graduated from Gonzaga
University in Spokane, WA,
with a Bachelors Degree in Human Services. She is very
involved in Community Outreach, and serves on the Healthy
Start Planning and Evaluation Committee; is chairperson of
the North Port Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention
Committee; and is a member of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s
Prescription Drug Diversion Task Force.

Shelley Rence
Shelley
grew up in
Michigan,
and lived there for 40 years before relocating to Florida.
She has a BA in Education from
Michigan
State
and a MA
in Guidance and Counseling from
Wayne
State
University.
She worked 6 years as a Therapist/Program Coordinator and
10 years as a Clinical Director for an outpatient Mental
Health/Substance Abuse near Detroit,
and was a Certified Addictions Counselor for over 12 years.
In Florida,
she served as a Child Protection Investigator for a year, a
HS Care coordinator for 3 years and the Program
Administrator for 8 years.
