The Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota County is dedicated to supporting parents to become the best parents they can be.
Florida is the only state in the U.S. which has entrusted important decisions about availability and accessibility of maternal and child health services to local groups of volunteer decision-makers.
And it is working! Ten years after Florida's Healthy Start program began, the state's infant mortality rate reached its lowest level in history.
